LATAM Achieves Best Domestic Market Share in Over a Decade

LATAM Airlines Brazil has reached a major milestone, recording its highest domestic market share in 12 years, according to the latest figures from ANAC (Brazil’s National Civil Aviation Agency). In August 2025, LATAM captured 41.5% of all domestic passenger traffic, reinforcing its position as Brazil’s leading airline.

This result marks the company’s strongest performance since 2013 and reflects its focused growth strategy, which includes new routes, fleet modernization, and a commitment to service excellence. LATAM’s consistent expansion into key regional and mid-sized markets has boosted connectivity across the country, helping it outpace competitors.

The airline’s ongoing investment in the Embraer E195-E2 fleet—with 24 aircraft on order—will enable LATAM to launch up to 30 new domestic destinations in the coming years. These fuel-efficient jets are ideal for connecting smaller cities and enhancing Brazil’s air network.

Brazil’s aviation market continues to show solid recovery, and LATAM’s leadership is a clear indicator of strong passenger demand. Rival carriers GOL and Azul maintain significant participation, with 32.1% and 26.2% market shares respectively, but LATAM’s recent momentum has given it a clear advantage.

According to Jerome Cadier, CEO of LATAM Airlines Brazil, the airline’s mission is to “expand access to air travel and improve connectivity across all regions of Brazil.” The company’s strategy combines high-frequency routes between major hubs and new services to emerging markets, ensuring balanced growth.

With record market share, a modern and expanding fleet, and an ambitious network plan, LATAM is solidifying its role as Brazil’s dominant carrier—poised to shape the next chapter of the nation’s air transport industry.
