LATAM Lets Travelers Choose In-Flight Meals via WhatsApp

LATAM Airlines has introduced a convenient new service for international travelers departing from Brazil: meal selection via WhatsApp. This customer-friendly initiative allows passengers to choose their in-flight meal in advance using the popular messaging app, adding a layer of personalization and efficiency to the travel experience.

Passengers will receive a WhatsApp message from LATAM beginning seven days before departure and up to 12 hours before their flight. The message includes menu options tailored to their specific route, including special dietary choices such as vegetarian or gluten-free meals. The process is quick and easy, and selections are confirmed directly through the chat interface.

This move is part of LATAM’s broader commitment to digital transformation and improving customer satisfaction. By letting travelers pick their meals ahead of time, LATAM enhances the onboard experience while also improving logistics, reducing catering waste, and increasing the likelihood that passengers will receive their preferred meal.

The decision to use WhatsApp reflects the airline’s focus on meeting customers where they are—on platforms they already use every day. It’s a smart strategy, particularly in markets like Brazil where WhatsApp is widely adopted.

LATAM is expected to expand the range of services available via WhatsApp, further simplifying the travel journey from booking to landing.
